Miley's Moment of Shock and Awe

Quel horreur! Miley Cyrus decided to go all-out, desperate, headline-grabbing skanky last night, like the lowliest of crack-hos, at the Video Music Awards. To think, this event was taking place only a few subway stops from where I live in Brooklyn (in Barclay's Center).  I thought I felt something slaggy in the night air! Zoot aleurs, me darlin's! I felt like I had to take a shower after watching the viral video (now deleted, it seems, from YouTube).

Well, if attention Miley wanted, attention she got. Question is: will this serve her well in the long run? She certainly stole the spotlight from Lady Gaga and Katy Perry for the night! Booty-bumping, grinding her ass into co-performer Robin Thicke's crotch after she stripped down to a bikini (as if to test his thickeness), her sleaze factor went off the filthometer! Miley's tongue lolled about from her leering ruby lips as if she were having a seizure. All in all, she almost made Ke$ha look Puritanical. Especially when she used the foam-hand, big pointing finger in a faux-masturbatory manner! Good Lord, is nothing off-bounds? Sacre bleu! Even Madonna must have been aghast, grinding her newly bejeweled teeth! (While taking notes.)

Reception was mostly negative to say the least. Cyndi Lauper decided there was a limit to girls just wanting to have fun! Reported E! online: "'That was girl gone wild. So sad, so sad....

"'She's in a song that literally says that the blurred lines allowed you to—when a woman says no, she means yes—and that's frightful because that's date rape,'" noted Lauper.

"The 'She Bop' singer wasn't done, however. 'And there she is, a young twentysomething trying to prove she can hang with the big boys and girls, you know, basically simulating a Girl Gone Wild video onstage. And I just felt like that was so beneath her and raunchy, really raunchy,' added Lauper. 'It wasn't even art.'"

Adam Lambert dissented, also according to E!: "Listen if it wasn't ur cup of tea—all good but why is everyone spazzing? Hey—she's doin something right. We all talking,"

From last week's show at the Beacon Theater NYC, Cyndi Lauper & Adam Lambert duet on "Mad World." It made my hair stand up (just like Adam's). So good; you have to check it out.

Divas, Divas Everywhere

Heartthrob Adam Lambert, himself a diva in the best sense, will be hosting this year's "VH1 Divas" show on December 16th. While tributes to both Donna Summer and Whitney Houston are planned, Dj Buddy B is rather underwhelmed by the rather doggy diva line-up set to perform.. They include Ciara, Jordan Sparks, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Kelly Rowland.

Yours truly is underwhelmed by the week's Billboard Dance/Club chart, too. Can you dig that South Korean singer/rapper PSY is # 3 with the novelty dance floor number, "Gangnam Style." I'm multi-culti and all that; however, I'll sit that one out at the disco, thanks. And, hey, waiter, bring me a mai tai. What ever happened to the Macarena and Los del Rio? Oh, and did I mention Taryn Manning's "Send Me Your Love" is this week's #1? Better make that drink a double.

Meanwhile, can you believe Kristine W peaked at # 4 and dropped to 6th place this week with the fabulous "Everything That I Got"? Waiter, another drinky-poo, please.

Other diva faves are upwardly mobile, though. A toast to the week's 8th through 10th chart positions. Nothing's stopping Yoko Ono from moving on, I'm happy to announce, with "I'm Moving On," as she occupies the # 8 spot after climbing to # 10 last week. This week's 10th spot belongs to Christina Aguilera with remixes of her sprightly new number, "Your Body," Buddy boasts.

At the bottom of the top 25, things are settling rather than rising with one fine exception. The band Matchbox Twenty (not to be confused with Haircut 100) soars from 31st place to # 23 with "She's So Mean," on a slew of fab remixes. Song's off their album, released in September, North, which is exactly where their single's pointed at the moment. 

Beyonce's "I Was Here" is still here, dropped to # 22 without ever having cracked the top 10. It peaked at 13. Ouch! Pet Shop Boys' "Winner" peaked at 12, now at # 24. And Pink's "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" rests on the bottom rung, # 25, a steep drop from last week's 8th spot. But it did, in fact, peak at #1.

Mariah Carey's "Triumphant," also a recent numero uno, slowly deflates. Was # 11 when we last looked; now at # 13. And where would we be these days without a Rihanna song on the Club chart? She's the Greatest Gainer, having made it up from # 35 the previous week with "Diamonds," and taking over the 18th place this go-round, where she smacks into Ke$ha, currently # 17 with "Die Young." No cheap, tasteless comment from me here, folks!

Let's have it, bitches! "Let's Have a Kiki" overtakes the #1 spot on the current Billboard Dance/Club chart. Can we give our Scissor Sisters a hand? I know they'd love the sound of applause because, frankly, who doesn't? I thrive off it!

Last week, Usher was a "Scream" in the #1 spot but, this week, he's tumbled to #8. Kylie Minogue is falling off the chart with one of the summer's big, best dance club smashes, though she has been on Billboard Dance/Club for a very robust 13 weeks, peaking at #1. Down to #33 last week, she's now at #45. The diva from down undah has soared to the US dance chart's #1 position a total of 9 times to date. We loves our Kylie!

Florence +the Machine's sitting pretty in the #2 location, a serious contender for #1 next week with "Spectrum (Say My Name)." The song has already topped charts in the UK.

David, who runs the iconic Rebel Rebel record store in the Village, on Bleecker, tells me that the Madonna fans who come in to shop are always the nastiest queens who walk into his house of vinyl and cds (and that includes yours truly). But they qvelled at Queen Mother's performance in NYC last week, when all the nastiness gave way to ferocity and turned into sweet adoration. Madonna, on her way down from lofty first place, holding strongly at #6, where we found her last week as well, with "Turn on the Radio."

Red-hot Pink leaps from 18th place last time to #10 now, warbling "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)," which is what I always say, or something to that tune. Rebecca Ferguson's charting nicely with "Nothing's Real But Love," at #11; expect it to enter the Top Ten next week.

Mariah Carey's working it with "Triumphant," as indeed she is with one of her strongest club outings ever, at #11 up from #21, a Billboard Greatest Gainer (and we're not talking weight this time); expect it to go up, up and up!

Cyndi Lauper's "Sex Is in the Heel" and Adam Lambert's "Never Close Our Eyes" are at numbers 16 and 17, respectively. Lambert charted for 12 weeks on Dance/Club -- nice work there -- and peaked at 6th place, which is where Ms Lauper peaked as well, charting thus far at a solid 11 weeks.

Moving into the Top 50 are Kristine W's "Everything That I Got," produced by Bimbo Jones (bursting in at #36) and Pet Shop Boys' "Winner," remixes of the song they sang at the London Olympics (#38).

An anonymous Billboard-charting dance diva tells me, confidentially, that, to chart, one needs "to hire a Billboard promoter" and that "it's expensive and not cost-effective in today's market.... Absolutely necessary to get one to get on [Billboard Dance/Club]. Maybe Madonna doesn't need a promoter to get on ... but, as you can see, Pink, J Lo, Katy Perry, Debby Holiday, Kristine W all have a BB promoter." Kind of stacks the deck, no? Billboard in Brief with a Beaverhausen Bias

Germany's Zedd (featuring one Matthew Koma) usurps the #1 Billboard dance/club chart spot with the trance-meets-heavy metal "Spectrum," and eternal disco boy Dj Buddy Beaverhausen, for one, is unimpressed. Rather I listen to a thousand Gotyes! But the song has beat Madonna out of the primo position.  Madge, who was on the fast track, just nudged to second place from last week's #3 spot, cooling her hefty bimbo jets till next week's expected big triumph via "Turn Up the Radio." We'll see. Might be just a bit delicious if the #1 spot has a surprise takeover.

Greatest Gainer this week is Scissor Sisters' trendalicious "Let's Have a Kiki," at #4 after a mere four weeks on the top 25 list. As I've said previously,  I love the Almighty remix best. It'll have you up & bouncing, party boys! And there's another song named "Spectrum" within the top 5, if you can believe! This one the hot Florence & the Machine tune. Number five this week, up from #8 when last we raked through the trending dance chart. By the way, might I say I miss Spectrum in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. In the '90s, I'd travel here from Manhattan to see great live performances with the likes of Village People, France Joli and Hazell Dean, to name a few, and to dance on the famed Saturday Night Fever disco floor.

Ah, Adam! Yer Glamberts must be hitting the clubs these days as "Never Close Our Eyes" reaches #6, up just one place from last time, but carried beautifully on your strong vocals and a few good club mixes, my fave again being from those Almighty men of the UK.

And who's that girl under Adam, at #7 this time out? None other than the fabulous Ms Cyndi Lauper, up from 11 last outing. "Sex Is in the Heel" is a great club number, a new triumph for gay-fave Cyn, so put on your cha-cha heels and dance her hot mess around. A true club person's delight!

"Dark Side" slides to #8 from last week's top perch, while Jennifer Lopez' "Goin' In" is goin' out at the 10th spot. And Kylie's fantastic "Timebomb" is now fizzling out at #11. Rebecca Ferguson's "Nothing's Real But Love" is currently up five spots, which is good news, and Gossip's "Perfect World" still clinging on in the 25th spot.

Billboard Dance/Club Top 25 Chart, week ending 8/25/12

Rebecca Ferguson went from Liverpool secretary to music sensation via Britain's X Factor. She has now charted on US Billboard's dance/club chart at #25 with remixes of "Nothing's Real But Love." We welcome a new, true diva to the list.

Three spots abover her, "Perfect World" by Gossip gently descends to 22nd place after peaking at #8 while Cyndi Lauper again displays her true colors to clubland with "Sex Is in the Heel", #11 on the hit parade, two tiers up from last week's 13th spot. I expect it will make the top ten the next time we look.

"Timbomb," which was the #1 dance tune two weeks ago, charts at #9 this week, still pretty sensational and starring diva darling, Kylie Minogue.

Boys will be boys as Scissor Sisters' "Let's Have a Kiki" high-kicks its way from #18 to #6, Jack Shears bypassing Adam Lambert by but one spot as "Never Close Our Eyes" makes a blind leap from #10 last week to land in the current #7 position. You can open them now. Scissor Sisters' "Only the Horses" is still on board at #17.

Kelly Clarkson's "Dark Side" is this week's #1, with Madonna's rapidly rising "Turn Up the Radio" turning up in the hot #3 spot, likely to take over Kelly's throne on next occasion. "Spectrum" by Zedd featuring Matthew Koma is caught in the middle here at #2, not to be confused with "Spectrum (Say My Name)" by Florence & the Machine, up from #14 to #8. And that's the spectrum of the dance/club top-25 Billboard chart for this week.

Where My Gay Boys At? This Week's Billboard Dance Chart

Again, a totally biased and selective sorting out of the latest, top 25 Billboard Top Dance/Club tracks. Let's go where the boys are this week, namely two openly gay artists, Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters and Adam Lambert. Lambert's number, "Never Close Our Eyes," is a dancefloor beauty and it is propelled on the latest Billboard chart by several commendable extended remixes, my favorite being the Almighty mix. Here's hoping it's taken higher, all the way to #1, where it deserves to be.

Scissor Sisters' "Only the Horses" galloped to fifth place, only to be corralled at #16 this week, down five rungs from last week's #11 spot. However, "Let's Have a Kiki," #30 on Billboard Dance last week, has boogied on up to #18 on our latest outing, giving Sisters Sisters two top-25 charters from their new album simultaneously.

This week's #1 spot is currently coveted by Jenifer Lopez. Her "Goin' In" has gone in and toppled Kylie Minogue from her perch. "Timebomb" has been deactivated and relegated to the #5 spot, where fallen number-ones are prone to land, it seems. Katy Perry landed there last week after being trounced from her #1  by Kylie; her "Wide Awake" finds itself at #7 this time out. Divas may find themselves sitting pretty in the world of dance-music charts, but theirs is unfortunately always a short shelf life.

Kelly Clarkson's "Dark Side" nudges up one spot, from third to second place, possibly looking at the #1 spot next week. Of course, Madonna is the week's "Greatest Gainer," according to Billboard, with "Turn Up the Radio" turning up the diva heat and bounding its way up from last week's #19 to the current #8 spot. There's no reason to believe Madge couldn't make another leap of this sort next week, finding itself at #1 against her stalwart competition.

Cyndi Lauper's frankly fabulous "Sex Is in the Heel" staggers up to #13 from 18th place last go-round. I'm hoping it will find itself in the top ten next week, then make its way even higher, with the tippy-top a real possibility for her as well.

Of the nuevo, femme-fronted rock groups, Florence & the Machine arrives at 14th place with "Spectrum (Say My Name)" while Gossip drops precipitously from its #8 peak to #19.

And that rounds out this week's Billboard dance hits (as all upcoming tracks from 20 through 25 are not worth discussing, to put it bluntly. Remember, this is a completely subjective overview.)

Billboard's Diva Boom

What a week for diva favorites on Billboard's club/dance chart.  For instance, I'm thrilled Kylie's "Timebomb" went off in the #1 spot this week. My God, I thought it was headed there but I'm very happy it hit that target, which is where it absolutely deserves to be! Congratulations, Ms Minogue, America salutes you!

Cyndi Lauper has climbed three steps up in stilettos as "The Sex Is in the Heel," her new dance number, excites club-goers, especially her faithful gay fan base. It's currently #18 but who knows how high you can ascend in fuck-me pumps!

Male divas of the openly gay variety come closer to each other on Billboard's top 25, as "Only the Horses" by Scissor Sisters (featuring Jake Spears) backs up to the 11th spot, with Adam Lambert buoyed nicely by the remixes of "Never Close Our Eyes," now #14 with a four-point bounce from last wee's 18th spot.

Madonna is dogging Cyndi again as '80s divas collide once more. This week's "Greatest Gainer" (Billboard's term), the mediocre "Tun Up the Radio" by the Big M arrives in our top 25 at #19, a full twenty points up from last week's position.

"Perfect World" by Gossip is at #8. "Big Hoops," Nelly Furtado at #9. Katy Perry's still "Wide Awake" after dropping from 1st place to #5. JLo's "Going In" is #2, Kelly Clarkson's "Dark Side" currently at #3.

Cher's new album announced for December release, including her duet with Gaga. Expect remixes of that to appear in advance of the street date for the album. Peace & love on the dance floor where the groove is in the heart, the sex is in the heel, and stay away from Chick-Fil-A! ~~ Dj Buddy B

Divas on Top

This week, on the top 25 Billboard Dance/Club chart, some of our most prominent divas of dance have made their way to the top.

Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" unsurprisingly finds that pop goddess sitting pretty in the numero uno spot, as she was upwardly mobile at #2 last week. Right behind her, like a heat-seeking missile, is Kylie Minogue and her "Timebomb."  I'll be very surprised (not to mention upset) if it doesn't explode into the  #1 hit next week.

JLo's "Goin' In" to the third spot this time out, with Kelly Clarkson's "Dark Side" a bright fourth place. Best in show, "Only the Horses," performed by Scissor Sisters, rounds out the top 5. I mean, I'm happy to call Jake Shears a "diva," and expect "Let's Have a Kiki" to chart soon as well.

Very thrilled that Cyndi Lauper has returned to the dance chart with her delicious "Sex Is in the Heel." Aided and abetted by several hot remixes, this number is from an upcoming Broadway show, book by none other than Harvey Fierstein, music by Ms Lauper. Welcome back to clubland, Cyn!

Nelly Fertado's "Big Hoops" buoys her to twelfth place. ("The Bigger the Better" as the song says.) while Gossip's splended "Perfect World" nicely nudges up a notch to #9. Kathareine McPhee's "Touch Me" (from tv's "Smash") gets a bounce up to #16 from 17 last week, with 10 solid weeks on the chart and a peak at 4th place.

Adam Lambert's great "Never Close Our Eyes" blasts upward like a rocket. Number 23 last week, it's now at 18. And Eddie Amador and Kimberly Cole's dance sensation, "U Make Me Wanna" is up at 15, four rungs higher than last week's charting.

Adam Lambert Gives Us His Trespassing

Adam Lambert's hot, new album, Trespassing, dropped in time to make a big splash for June, Gay Pride month (officially declared by the President of the United States this year). Lambert historically became the first out gay singer (emphasis on "out") to have a #1 album on the US Billboard and in Canada.

This album is nothing short of fabulous with a heavy emphasis on dance and techno, all expertly produced by our hot Idol exec producer and principal writer.

"Outlaws of Love," the song that concludes the 12-track set (a deluxe edition includes three bonus tracks), is a sensitive ballad magnificently sung with the right mix of bravado and subtlety, and a touch of Ray Orbison. Every gay person will relate to this number as will most anyone who feels like an outsider. Can we forgive those who trespass against us?

"Better than I Know Myself," the first single (with remixes) pretty much tanked commercially. Though I rather liked some of the mixes, I think it was an odd choice as a debut single. A ballad on the album, it is certainly not one of the strongest tracks. The mixes of the second single being fired off Trespassing, "Never Close Our Eyes" (written by Bruno Mars) are much more robust, particularly the Almighty (UK) club mix. You can give it a listen:

The title song that opens the album has a hot, urban, techno quality to it with echos of Michael Jackson, as does the second track, "Cukoo." But dig the '70s funk of "Shady" with classic disco-era producer Nile Rogers (Chic, Diana Ross). A masterpiece! "Kickin' In" has an '80s Prince quality to it, meanwhile. And all this is a testimony to the star's vocal versatility and incredible range.

One of my personal favorites on Trespassing is "Pop That Lock," displaying Adam's upper range beautifully. It shouldn't be ignored as a floor-filler, remixed or as is.

Highly recommended album; a future classic I'm predicting. Put it in your collection; it will sound great generations from now!

(Meanwhile, our American Idol is off, filling Freddie Mercury's shoes as part of the new Queen tour. Only he could tackle this credibly. They've already started performing in Eastern Europe. Any feedback from you guys? Please reply to this blog.)

But don't just trust me regarding Trespassing. Here's what Rolling Stone raved:

"So here's the great pop album everybody was hoping Adam Lambert would make, ever since he ran wild on American Idol three years ago. It wasn't just Glambert's dynamite-with-a-laser-beam voice that got him into our national knickers: It was his warmth, his humor, his burlesque bravado. His 2010 debut, For Your Entertainment, was a typical Idol quickie – decent, but it needed more personality. Trespassing delivers, with a mix of tinsel disco-club sleaze and leather-boy love ballads. While he excels in a radio cheddar bomb like "Naked Love," he gets deeper in slow jams like "Underneath" and "Outlaws of Love." But all over Trespassing, Glambert sings everything like Zeus in a thong."

Zeus in a thong! Now that's a tasty little thought!

Divas, Queens & Billboard

There are a select few popular, contemporary artists on the dance-music scene whom I abhor; Nicki Minaj first and foremost. I just don't get her! I watched Ms Minaj, from L.A., on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve and the bitch was not rockin' me at all! So, the very fact that she is sitting atop the Billboard Dance chart, at #1, with the cacophonic, David Guetta-produced "Turn Me On," turns me off. However, I do not believe there is any shortage of talent in the current disco-diva pool. Indeed, I think we are going through a disco renaissance in terms of proficiency and flair, be it in terms of divahood, production quality or remixer inventiveness and excitement!

Michael Musto commented this week, in The Village Voice (very accurately, I thought), regarding the theater: "We're in the middle of a musical-diva golden age thanks to Patti, Bernadette, Donna, Audra, Sutton, Jan, Kelli, Kristin, and Alice, but you still hear theater queens murmuring, 'There are no stars like the old days!'" Well, the same goes for dance music. Disco dinosaurs grumble but they don't go to clubs any more or immerse themselves in the current dance-music scene. I feel this is more of a misinformed attitude or belief that has no foundation in reality. A lot of the disco, hiNRG and house music stars of the 70s, 80s and 90s are still around. And many new artists do the dance floor proud. Go out and see what I mean. (Just try to choose a good dj.)

Gladys Knight is a divine and (dare I add?) much loved, vocalist who's not necessarily associated with disco, though she has, with the Pips, dabbled in the genre. This week, remixes of "I Who Have Nothing" came across my desk and, babies, Gladys blew my mind (on a midnight train to Bay Ridge)! I think this will get ample dance-floor play, especially via the mixes by Redtop and Tony Moran. Hot stuff coming through! And I understand you can download these mixes via iTunes.

Apparently, the rumors are true! Rolling Stone confirmed, just a few hours ago, after Britain's The Daily Star leaked it:

Adam Lambert is reportedly the new singer for Queen, replacing the American Idol winner's own late idol, Freddie Mercury. Lambert broke the news to the U.K.'s Daily Star.

"The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some fucking great songs," he said. "It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would've been proud of." Queen previously toured with former Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers taking Mercury's place.

Speculation has been high since Lambert was joined by surviving Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor during his Idol finals appearance in 2009. In November, they performed together at the MTV EMAs in Belfast.

Lambert said he had no intention of replacing Mercury, who died in 1991. "That's impossible," he said. "The way I'm choosing to view it is that it's a great honor and one I'm in no way going to shirk." Lambert's second solo album, Trespassing, is due in March.

A representative for Hollywood Records tells Rolling Stone, "The Daily Star item only mentions that Adam may perform with Queen at Sonisphere. This is not confirmed. Nothing has been signed. However, if this were to happen, Queen would be returning to the setting of their final concert with Freddie Mercury, which took place in 1986."

Sounds promising! (Any thoughts on Lambert filling Mercury's platform boots? Feel free to comment here on this post.) At least, when it comes to Queen, we've got one dynamic queen substituting for another. And Lambert can hit all of Freddie's notes.

Now, to briefly run down what interests me on the latest Billboard dance chart:

"Shake It Out" by Florence + the Machine dropped from #4 to 8, so I think its chance to get to the #1 spot is unlikely. But it shook its way to 4 and that's shaking me up, too. "Drifting," by Plumb, drifts ever upward with its trancey mixes to the 10th spot, while Gaga's "Marry the Night" currently nestles at #9 in its gradual descent from #1.

The delicious "Waiting on You" (Ultra Nate & Michelle Williams) up to 11 from 12. (Love to see this groove make its way into the top ten by next week.) "If It Wasn't for Love," by diva deluxe Deborah Cox, hits the twelfth spot this week, descending from a lofty #1 as well.

Wild Turkey Time

Holiday cheer officially settled upon us with the American Music Awards ceremony, when Jennifer Lopez took a flying leap off the back of a hunky dancer-boy and landed flat on her famously significant buttocks. On the backs of her male dancers, as if they were merely a human staircase, J. Lo (or is it now Lo La?) ascended, stomping her way to the top in what appeared to be snow boots. (I'm just surprised it wasn't stilettos!) She then took her now-infamous, pre-Thanksgiving Day, wild-turkey leap; a piece of choreography apparently taken from the Britney Spears Handbook. Ker-plunk and ouch!

In the wings, I hear the diva vented her fury; fallout over the fall. And it was aimed at the dancers! The following day on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, she joked about the incident and said, "The measure of things isn't what happens when you fall, it's how you recover when you fall." Recover? Like leaping to your feet and bringing even more attention to the incident? Well, yeah, ok, all right.

And p.s.: Who was guilty of decking her out in that hideous costume?

La Lopez's latest dance single is strictly buzz, not intended for her upcoming album. Apparently under the impression that she, too, can be Lady Gaga, the newly reincarnated Lo La here again falls flat on her ass. "Fresh Out the Oven" sounds cold and stale. The preferred mix would be Karmatronic's. Space Cowboy -- best known for his work with Gaga -- offers a mercifully short mix. But poor Hex Hector, trying to show us he still has edge, comes up with a clunky, junky concoction that hardly elevates this tune (featuring Miami rapper Pit Bull) in any way.

Just a moment here, now, to comment on Adam Lambert's same-sex kiss on the above-mentioned Awards because I thought it was brave and right on. "Female performers have been doing this for years — pushing the envelope about sexuality — and the minute a man does it, everybody freaks out," commented Lambert and that is so true. I've always found it hypocritical that showing men together, performing all sorts of violent acts: wrestling, fisticuffs, etc. is acceptable, but any display of affection is taboo. This must change and Lambert has pushed the envelope for that to happen. Ecce homo, baby!

Now, will the real Lady Gaga (i.e., not Lo La) please stand up? Double-Ga's latest dance offering, "Bad Romance," is her best to date. The Bimbo Jones remix is close to heaven. And while already compared to Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Gwen Stefani (though never Jennifer Lopez), Gaga coolly comes across here as nothing less than the new Debbie Harry. She's fierce, fabulous and fantastic -- and landing right on her feet no matter what she does.

And, finally, a Happy Thanksgiving to all you wild turkeys out there, whoever you might be!
