I Love Dick (Tracy)! (Bob Esty Month Continues)

There are some outstanding "Ah, if only..." moments in our pop culture that give us pause and tease the imagination. For example, "Ah, if only Joan Crawford didn't get dismissed in her role as cousin Miriam in Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte (replaced by Olivia de Havilland)...!" Here's another "if only" moment as Bob Esty Month continues.

Mr Esty wrote the following song for Madonna in the 1990 movie, Dick Tracy. Here is the rare guide vocal, sung by Bob Esty, for the track titled, "I Love Dick Tracy." Warren Beatty loved the track but, sadly, it was submitted too late. "It could have been a real floor thumper and back in the day, Madonna would have most likely had a hit with it!" wrote the YouTube poster (dpmclain) of this song.

Enjoy! And think of what might have been. Clever, funny and Madonna-appropriate.
