Cine Beaverhausen: The H8ful Eight

Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight is almost three hours long and deliberately old school, It has an overture and intermission. You'll definitely get your money's worth out of this film.

Frankly, I felt it could stand a little more editing as it seems a bit indulgent at times. But that's Quentin.

It is a film, however, with many virtues. It was shot using antique film lenses and the cast is fierce, notably Samuel L. Jackson in the starring role, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kurt Russell. What a cast! And the support are magnificent.

It's on 70mm at most theaters though, frankly, I watched it on a promo video.

Ennio Morricone (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) did the score, so this movie certainly doesn't lack in first-rate credentials. I distinctly recommend this movie, opening Friday at movie theaters across the country!
