My Christmas Countdown 2013 Continues with Ms Darlene Love

David Letterman has said "It's not Christmas until Darlene Love sings 'Christmas, Baby Please Come Home'!" Here she is on last year's Letterman show, belting out her famous Christmas classic that she originally recorded for Phil Spector. This year, she is expected to return for the song's 50th anniversary. I expect to see Darlene Love live at BB King's NYC this coming Friday, December 6. It's Christmastime!

Martha Wash on The David Letterman Show

Martha Wash appeared on David Letterman last night to sing "It's Raining Men," it being that song's 30th Anniversary. (Can you believe it?) Martha was one of the Weather Girls, a duo whose other vocalist was the late Izora Whitehead. Paul Schaffer, on keyboards, co-wrote the song with Paul Jabara. In his introduction, Letterman calls the song "iconic" and it certainly is that. The production around Ms Wash is quite elaborate, like Folies Bergere meet Cirque du Soleil on Solid Gold. See for yourselves:

By the way, did I ever mention that I kissed Martha Wash in August at B.B. King's, where she sang her excellent new single, "It's My Time"? Read about it at link:

David Letterman - Darlene Love's 'Christmas' Mash-Up

Tonight, Christmas Eve, Miss Darlene Love will be belting out "Christmas, Baby Please Come Home" on The David Letterman Show for the 25th year in a row. Unbelievable!

Well, this is the end of my Christmas Countdown and I want to wish everyone a very happy holiday, whatever your beliefs, wherever you are tonight. It's that time of year; feel it in our hearts. May we move towards greater world peace in 2012.

This video link was put together by the Letterman people. A wonderful, expert mash-up of Love's Letterman performances over the years. She's a gal of many 'dos.

Enjoy! Love, peace and happiness!
