It's Easter time and the official Madonna "Girl Gone Wild" video has been released (first appearing on the E! network), appropriately opening with M reciting the Catholic "Act of Contrition" almost convincingly.
Miss Madge is making herself very available right now, what with her own Youtube channel, Facebook and new Twitter account, and a recent live chat on same.
This week on Nielsen ratings' Billboard, Madonna's "MDNA" bows at No. 1 on the
albums chart, selling over 359,000 copies.
Reports Billboard: Madonna has now
etched a total of eight No. 1 albums: three in the '80s, four in
the '00s and now one in '10s. She missed scoring a No. 1 in the
1990s, remarkably, but she did claim five No. 2 albums in that
decade with "I'm Breathless," "The Immaculate Collection,"
"Erotica," the "Evita" soundtrack and "Ray of Light."
On Billboard's Dance/Club chart, meanwhile, Madonna is a "Greatest Gainer" as "Girl Gone Wild" jettisons from #7 to 4th place. "Give Me All Your Luvin'" topped the Dance chart last week, but falls to a still respectable 8th place. (Beyonce's "Love on Top" tops this week.)
It's a coup; it's Madonna Madness; and it ain't over yet.
