Buddy Beaverhausen's Random Thoughts: Happy 90th Anniversary to Queen Liz II

To the left, Queenie in a very playful, Elton John kind of mood. Heavy is the head that wears that crown, so she deserves some levity now and then. I'd love to try it on one day to feel what it's like.

There's no denying Liz II is the biggest queen of us all. And never mind the tiara! Look at all her fabulous hats!

She has been queen for as long as I've been alive, and today ~ April 26th ~ is her 90th Birthday. God Bless her.

I remember a 1980s visit to London when I was staying at the gay guest house, Brompton's, when the Queen of England showed up just down the street. I was able to hear her speak, standing as part of the mob. Though I don't remember what the heck she said, she had an SRO audience!

As far as the hats go, Bette Midler has quipped, "I imagine all her hat-tmakers, sitting around, saying 'Oh, Queenie's going to love this one!'"

It has been said that the Queen Mum would get drunk, stumble to the balcony and yell down to her servants, "One of you queens down there, get this Queen her whiskey!" The royals are well aware of the common, slang usage of that word.

Elizabeth II has been married to Prince Phillip all her life. They have five children. She must have closed her eyes and thought of England!

Happy 90th birthday, Queen Elizabeth II! God save the Queen!
