Cine Beaverhausen: Buddy B Enters The Forest

The Forest is an American horror film set in Japan's Suicide Forest. The premise is promising and the film poses an interesting question: Is this about ghosts or schizophrenia?

A woman goes to the aforementioned locale, looking for her "twin sister," if indeed there is such a person.

The movie just finished its run at our local Alpine Cinema. It's goes down well with popcorn, though, admittedly, it's rather tepid although it has its scary moments.

What interests me is how the latest horror releases have returned to pure scares and the supernatural rather than to gore and slasher themes, thankfully.  At the outset, The Forest holds promise in terms of character development and setting but then punks out on us.

Still, it's an earnest effort and worth watching for horror film fans.
