We're in a disco state of mind this year during the holiday season. So do the bump, to "Disco Christmas" by the Universal Robot Band, around the tree.
Universal Robot Band had one other dance-club hit, that being "Dance and Shake Your Tambourine."
The back-up vocalists do the singing while Rudolph and Santa kibitz in this 1977 number.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a very disco holiday!

Charo Brings Santa Claus to My 2015 Christmas Countdown
While still in a latin mood, here is some holiday cheer from Charo! The song was produced by The Salsoul Orchestra and was a big disco hit at this time of year on the dance floor. It was also a #1 hit on the dance-music harts,
Hear how Charo makes this number her own in her inimitable style, and Merry Christmas as my Christmas Countdown continues!
Now, donde esta Santa Claus? Totally adorable.

2013 Christmas Countdown Continues -- Disco Santa Claus
Sorry I dropped the Christmas ball yesterday on my Countdown, but we're back with this great diva-fronted disco number from 1978 by The Raindolls.
Hope you get your cha-cha heels this year! Let's bring out the egg nog and put the needle on the record.

"The Little Drummer Boy" by the Salsoul Orchestra
Call it Disco Lite. It's from 1977 and its by the then popular Salsoul Orchestra, smoothly produced and perfect whether you're sliding across the linoleum with your egg nog in a disco frenzy, or doing a holiday-season workout at the gym. Today's music on my Christmas Countdown is "The Little Drummer Boy." It's all about the beat, so let a little parumpatumtum into your life for holiday cheer.

Disco Santa Claus by the Fabulous Raindolls
Take off those damned boots and put on your platform shoes because, as The Raindolls explain, "We'll have a Disco Santa Claus this year/Doin'the Hustle with a bag of cheer!" Right arm!
From my research, it seems The Raindolls were a one-off who only did this song. The '60s-girl group-influenced voices that morphed into disco divas are a mystery. Who were they? What else did they do under other group names, perhaps? Did any of them have solo careers; would we recognize any of them by name? Who were the band members, for that matter? If anybody out there knows, please clue us in.
But otherwise, just Hustle on down to this very hot dance tune from '78 the way we do in Bay Ridge, Noo Yawk, home of Saturday Night Fever, after all. I'm Dj Buddy B, this is on my "Merry Happy" Christmas promo-only cd-r, and I hope you enjoy this track wherever on this planet you may be.

Christmas Disco Floor with Joan, Bette & Christina
The stupidest things can make me laugh. Like this animated ditty of the many (bobble-headed) faces of Joan, Christina, Faye as Mommie Dearest (Joan) and Baby Jane Hudson in a festive Christmas Hustle. Watch them Vogue and give good face! And enjoy the seasonal disco flavor of it all; very Buddy B in spirit, I think. Maybe you'll laugh with me, maybe you'll laugh at me. Have a happy holiday season all the same.

Disco Christmas - Universal Robot Band
It's Friday night, time to party. And Christmas is in the air! So, close the blinds and get your disco lights going, it's time to boogie down to the 1977 "Disco Christmas" by the Universal Robot Band.
I love this song for four reasons: (1) great beat, melody and production values; (2) the hilarious dialogue between Santa and Rudolph; (3) the choir including the excellent female singers and (4) it's just plain groovy!
