Surely. 32--year-old Britney Spears must believe all men are pigs by now or at least be questioning her taste in them. TMZ broke the news that traveled worldwide in a nanosecond that the singer dumped her latest boy toy, David Lucado, after a video surfaced of him "making out with a woman and dancing with her." It was also reported in Star magazine that lothario Lucado was seen pawing, and dancing all night with, another woman at a club in West Hollywood. It's Britney, bitch! And she doesn't like the disrespect. Who can blame her?
While Brit posted "Ahhhh, the single life!" on Twitter, a representative for Lucado stated that the ex-bf is still "very much" in love with the superstar and hopes to get back together with her. Good luck, pal!
This all comes very shortly after news that Mariah Cary filed for divorce from husband Nick Cannon after discovering Nick was engaging in some extramarital activities, namely with two mistresses. Carey, reportedly devastated, wasted no time in seeking a divorce from the cad. Unrepentant and defiant, the loose Cannon claimed that as far as he was concerned, his marriage with Mariah was a mirage, as it was, in his opinion, "already over." Cheeky!
Ah, my divas! Too often you are victims of the very songs you sing, to paraphrase Candi Staton. All those adoring fans but can't find a man to love you as you know you deserve.
It ain''t over until the diva sings it's been said. Well, Britney and Mariah have just belted it out, boys. So, go, go out the door, don't turn around now, you're not welcome anymore. Do you hear your swan song?

"The Little Drummer Boy" by the Salsoul Orchestra
Call it Disco Lite. It's from 1977 and its by the then popular Salsoul Orchestra, smoothly produced and perfect whether you're sliding across the linoleum with your egg nog in a disco frenzy, or doing a holiday-season workout at the gym. Today's music on my Christmas Countdown is "The Little Drummer Boy." It's all about the beat, so let a little parumpatumtum into your life for holiday cheer.

Around the Plastic Tree with the Pet Shop Boys
If anyone wants to wrap up Neil Tennant of Pet Shop Boys (above right) and gift him to me this Christmas, I'd like that very much. I'm mad about the (Pet Shop) Boy. Boy, did I say "boy"? Ok, a very mature boy. Neil is so bright, so clever, kind of hot, tall, with a cute British accent (quite proper) and he's got all that money! (But that's another issue and another Pet Shop Boys song.) I do not care that he's lost most of his hair. He can have some of mine.
Not only great performers, live and in the studio, but brilliant producers, songwriters and remixers. Below, they weigh in on Christmas; even Bing Crosby figures into their ironic world view on this one, along with "families fighting around the plastic tree." So have a happy holiday season, disco-style, with the openly gay British gentlemen of pop music, the Pet Shop Boys. (They have perfect enunciation!)
(And, no, really, I'm so into Neil Tennant, so if you can Fed Ex him overnight...! I mean, it's Christmas after all.)

Cher at Pee-Wee's Playhouse Christmas
Cher's moment on the Pee Wee Herman Christmas Special from 1988. Sadly, she does not get to sing, but she shows up at the Playhouse looking fabulous nonetheless.

Amazing Love
Darlene Love has an amazing voice and, come December, she has been amazing us each year in NYC, recently at BB King's. Yet, each show I go to, I find myself electrified and amazed all over again by her voice. Powerful, yet seemingly effortless, she is the Energizer Bunny of vocalists, spanning generations with a voice that not only keeps going and going and going, but actually seems to get better with time.
At tonight's show, Ms Love had a very special surprise. She generously shared the stage with her sister, Edna Wright. Edna may best be known as the lead vocalist for the girl group, Honey Cone, from the early 1970s. Their hits included "Stick Up," "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show" and "Want Ads." Honey Cone recorded these hits in 1971, at a time when soul and girl group sounds were fusing into what was the nascent disco sound, which they certainly helped spearhead.
Darlene and sister Edna did a potent duet, covering "Hold On, I'm Coming," originally done by Sam & Dave. Eds was then left to her own devices as her big sister went offstage. She did "One Monkey" and "Want Ads," sandwiching a soulful version of "The Christmas Song" ("Chestnuts roasting...") betwixt those numbers.
Ms Love also amazed by looking trim and fit in black with sparkles, unbelievable for a woman around 70! She attributed her new figure to kickboxing classes. Sign me up! Her eyes brought back the "raccoon" look dramatically, and could help mascara sales immensely if they trend.
Love went through her Phil Spector hits, the "golden moldies" as she called them, knowing her fans insisted. But she belted out each number with total conviction and harnessed energy. "He's a Rebel," "He's Sure the Boy I Love' and other 1960s numbers were put across in ways that may not have been fresh, but that recreated that Wall of Sound quality in a way her fans expect and associate her with. She had a few funny but not particularly kind asides about Spector, too. Of course, for the season, she included "Marshmallow World" and "Winter Wonderland," keeping the arrangements from the now-classic Wall of Sound album, Phil Spector's A Christmas Gift for You, in which she played a major part.
Love discussed how Spector had her lay down tracks for "River Deep, Mountain High." One day, she looked up into his recording booth and saw Tina Turner next to him. The rest of this story is history. Nonetheless, Ms Love's rendition is astounding. Below, see her performance of this on The David Letterman Show in 2007, to give you an idea.
For her cover of her friend, Dionne Warwick's, "Don't Make Me Over," the 2011 inductee into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame steps up to the plate and makes it her own in a way few would be able to do. Finally, for her encore, Darlene does her Christmas perennial, "Christmas, Baby Please Come Home," from the Phil Spector Christmas album. It is a song she has been doing for 25 years on David Letterman. She has been in show biz twice that long.
Ms Darlene Love will appear on Letterman December 23rd.

"Merry Christmas" from Joan Collins
We all know Joan Collins is best when playing evil, scheming, even murderous slags. And it's no different come Christmas season. So, here is Joan, on Christmas Eve, in the 1972 British horror film, "Tales from the Crypt." It's an anthology film and Joan's segment is first up and a classic of sorts. It was later redone on the American tv series of the same name, both film and tv show having been based upon the golden-age EC comic book.
The name of this episode is "And All Through the House," and it's mostly Joan fighting an escaped psycho from the local asylum who is dressed as Santa. However, it is in this opening minute and a half that Joan once more re-establishes her credentials as Bitch with a capital B. Isn't that heartwarming?
